I am an American

I am a citizen of the United States of America or in the process of becoming one.  My family or I may have come from anywhere in the world or are native to this land now called the USA – but what matters now is that I am an American.

I am a member of any race or ethnic group.  I am proud of my heritage – but what matters now is that I am an American.

I am a member of any religion or perhaps no religion at all.  What is important is that I subscribe to and fully support the Judeo-Christian values that were the underpinning of the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.  I am an American because I AM FREE!
