“When Congress refuses to act and as a result hurts our economy and puts people at risk, I have an obligation as president to do what I can without them.” — President Barack Obama
While I always identify the speaker of a quote, it is especially necessary this time. Why? Because if you remove the president’s name from the statement, it becomes really easy to imagine any number of other people making it. For example, plug in Chinese president Hu Jintao, Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, or Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Is there any doubt that any of these men would we more than willing to act, if they saw an “obligation” to do so, without the messy necessity of dealing with their respective legislative bodies?
Remember when, right after the 2010 election, a lot of the media were wondering if Barack Obama was going to “move to the center” or practice the politics of “triangulation” that got Bill Clinton re-elected? Such musings are a testament to the self-inflicted blindness that affects far too many people who get paid to see through such nonsense.
When this man was running in 2008, I implored Americans to understand that this country was divided by many issues, but first and foremost among those issues was a simple reality: there are those Americans who add up the plusses and minuses of the American experience and come to the conclusion that this country, warts and all, is still the best nation of earth — and the last, best hope of mankind. Then there are those Americans who engage in the same calculations and conclude that we are at best, just another country, and at worst, the nexus of all that is wrong in the world. Read more…

Group with ties to president engaged in massive 3rd party drive
A mysteriously funded, highly organized effort to secure a place on the 2012 presidential election ballot for a third party candidate has ties to President Obama and top Democrats, WND has learned.
The group, calling itself Americans Elect, or AE, seems designed to appear like a massive, grassroots effort involving millions of citizens acting to draft a third party candidate.
However, the organization’s voting process has been called into question and there also are concerns AE’s bylaws may allow the group’s own board members to bypass votes and nominate their own candidate.
AE describes itself as “a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded by Americans from across the political spectrum who are worried that our nation’s deep political divisions keep big problems from being solved.”
AE seeks to hold its own nominating convention on the Internet this June to select an independent presidential and vice-presidential candidate. The group says any registered voter can sign up to participate in the June convention.
AE reportedly has raised more than $22 million so far and already has been certified to be placed on the ballot in 12 states now, including California. Read more…
Many Americans are alarmed by the bold move of the man who occupies the Oval Office to downsize the American military. News reports are calling this the most significant shift in military strategy since World War II. In short, the US will reduce its presence in Europe, turn its focus toward the Asian Pacific and China, rely more heavily on technology, and reduce the troop strength. This administration has decided to give the impression that budget cuts will come in military programs rather than social programs. The announcement at the Pentagon has sent ripples around the world, especially among allies who have grown dependent on a US military presence.
One one hand, it is good to reduce the size of our military and cut spending by eight percent over a ten year period. The US has become too military heavy, too much of a nation-building super power, too eager to overlay “democracy” onto systems that are totally incompatible with the responsibilities of representative government. By legitimizing an antichrist system through democracy, America has been the catalyst of nurturing evil and assisting it to grow into a formidable oppressor of religious freedom, free speech and human rights. For all the hard earned taxpayer money America’s leaders have sown for a crop of peace, the harvest has been one of hatred, war, economic hardship and global instability. Read more…
The Cordray Imperial Charter
Authority cannot be bound only by the laws it likes.

Yesterday President Obama decided to do away with that pesky little “Constitution” thing, and assign himself the power to make recess appointments when the Senate is not in recess.
The Constitution could not be more clear about this: “The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.” The meaning of this power is equally clear, providing a mechanism for the President to expediently fill important offices left vacant by sudden illness or resignation. The President is most certainly not granted the power to unilaterally decide whether the Senate is in recess or not.
This was all done for the purpose of installing Richard Cordray as director of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is not what the Founders had in mind when they contemplated the need to swiftly fill crucial offices so the government could discharge its limited Constitutional duties. Later, Obama threw in three appointees to the National Labor Relations Board for good measure.
Announcing his power grab in Ohio, President Obama chirped, “Today I’m appointing Richard as America’s consumer watchdog. That means he’ll be in charge of one thing: looking out for the best interests of American consumers.”
Where’s that power enumerated in the Constitution or Bill of Rights, again? The notion of the central government appointing a “watchdog” to “look out for the best interests” of a chosen constituency would have filled the authors of our Constitution with horror, if not violent rage. Indeed, the strongest objections to this appointment voiced by Republicans center upon the office itself, more than the nominee. Read more…

As the attention of most Americans was captivated by the shiny object in Times Square this weekend like infants fixated on car keys dangled in front of them, Barack Hussein Obama signed into law H.R. 1540, better known as the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Regardless of any concurrent executive signing statements that are mere window dressing and not legally binding, Obama and every member of congress who crafted and voted for this act has essentially declared war on American citizens on U.S. soil.
To quote Rush Limbaugh, “words mean things.” As a career investigator, I can assure you that words contained in local, state and federal laws most certainly mean things, and provide the legal authority for conduct sanctioned by national or state authorities without regard to any promised judicial or prosecutorial discretion that could be likened to the signing statement. The NDAA now codifies the most controversial aspects of the Patriot Act, which “candidate” Obama publicly opposed. What changed?
Greasing the slope
Any person of reasonable sensibilities should be raising a multitude of questions upon considering the current and historical conduct of the executive and legislative branches of our government. It was the attack on 9/11 that ostensibly paved the way for the Bush administration to craft the USA PATRIOT Act, which was signed into law by congress on October 26, 2001. That legislation broadened law enforcement powers well beyond the rights granted to Americans by the U.S. Constitution. While many of the provisions contained in the PATRIOT Act were scheduled to end on December 31, 2005, the U.S. Senate passed a reauthorization bill containing numerous changes in July 2005, and the House of Representatives submitted a bill that kept most of the original bill intact. The largely unchanged bill passed congressional vote on March 2, 2006 and was signed into law by George W. Bush. Read more…

Four things have to happen at the absolute minimum, however, if freedom and democracy are to prevail and Western civilization and the Western way of life are to survive
2012 is going to be one of the most significant, important years in living memory. Serious threats to the United States and the rest of the free world are many and varied and both will be under attack as never before.
The Presidential election in the U.S., continuing turmoil throughout the Middle East, the enormous and growing deficit and debt in America, the financial fiasco in Europe, ongoing Islamization in the United States, Europe and democracies everywhere at the expense of freedom and its principles and institutions, Iran and her single-minded, obsessive pursuit of nuclear weapons and her avowed intention to use them against Israel and the U.S., the rise of China and a new dictator in North Korea are only some of the things that could easily lead to death and destruction on an unimaginable scale, could easily lead to the effective demise of the free world, could easily lead to the forces of darkness and ignorance becoming ascendant. There are powder kegs everywhere and any of them could explode and cause us great harm or bring us down at any time…there is a great deal to fear but is there any reason to hope that sanity will prevail and that we will survive as free peoples in free, democratic societies, or survive at all for that matter?
Yes there is. Four things have to happen at the absolute minimum, however, if freedom and democracy are to prevail and Western civilization and the Western way of life are to survive. Read more…

What happened to “equal justice for all”?
Six months ago, I returned home to discover a family had moved into my backyard storage shed. Displaying an incredible sense of entitlement and off the chain arrogance, the family refused to leave, arguing they were simply seeking a better life. Adding insult to injury, their TV, computers and etc were powered by an electrical cord plugged into the exterior outlet of my home.
Infuriated, I immediately sought help from law enforcement to remove the squatters from my property. After inquiring about the race of my intruders, law enforcement accused me of racism. Law enforcement declined to assist me. I yelled, “These people are breaking the law! What about my rights as a property owner?”
Law Enforcement scolded me, “Don’t try to hide your racism behind the law!”
I returned home frustrated to witness more of the trespasser’s family and friends setting up residency in my backyard. One invader brought an old piece of crap RV. My Home Owner’s Association is fining me daily until its removal. There are tents and people living in an old Chevy station-wagon; all powered by a dangerous poor imitation of a MacGyver style electrical hookup into my power including a maze of electrical cords. Iran is quietly seeking to expand its ties with Latin America in what U.S. officials and regional experts say is an effort to circumvent economic sanctions and gain access to much-needed markets and raw materials.
The new diplomatic offensive, which comes amid rising tensions with Washington and European powers, includes a four-nation swing through South and Central America this month by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His government has vowed to increase its economic, political and military influence in the United States’ back yard.
The Iranian navy continued its 10-day drill on Friday in international waters near the strategic oil route that passes through the Strait of Hormuz. (Dec. 30)
The visit reinforces recent commitments by Iran to invest millions of dollars in economic development projects for the region, from a mining joint venture in Ecuador to factories for petrochemicals and small-arms ammunition in Venezuela.
Iran has also dramatically expanded its diplomatic missions throughout the hemisphere and dispatched members of its elite Quds Force — the military unit U.S. officials in October linked to a foiled assassination plot in Washington — to serve in its embassies, U.S. officials and Iran experts say. What would you do if a thief came into your house and began taking your possessions? What if he kicked you out of your house and locked you out of it? What if he took your children and imprisoned them? Would you fight back? Or would you just turn the other cheek? I think that most of you would fight back. This home invasion would be a place where you would draw the line and do what you could to stop the thief. Even if the thief got away, you would find a way to pursue him and bring him to justice, get your children back, and restore your property. You would see this thief as an enemy to your life, liberty and happiness. I am reporting that this is already happening to you and asking what are you doing about it?
We can wax spiritually about the condition of the nation and of the world. There is nothing we can do to stop the march of prophecy. Why would we want to? But we can determine our place in it. Jesus and the Apostles knew that we would face tribulation. Jesus said in John 16:33, “In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Jesus also gives us an example about the thief and the good shepherd. He said in John 10:10, “The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” Jesus goes on to say that he is the good shepherd, “and I lay down my life for the sheep.” We all know that in the physical world, Jesus gave his life that we might have salvation and eternal life. If it were not for Christians, this nation would never have been a nation. Perhaps not all the Founding Fathers were Christian, but most were honorable men who knew that the laws of the Bible were worthy of governing a nation. I think John Jay, first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, said it best: “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is their duty, as well as privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” Lexington Pastor Jonas Clarke is quoted as saying, “We recognize no sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus,” which became a battle cry for the patriots. Where are the Christians today?
The Christian church, its pastors and parishioners, stood firm for the abolition of slavery that won the moral high ground and the war between the states. Yes, churches in the Confederacy claimed their Christianity. Generals of the Southern army were Christian, no doubt. But God gave this nation to be free and the principle that no man should own another, that all men are truly created equal, prevailed. The civil rights movement of the 1960s was also a testament to Christian pastors and Christians who knew men should be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. Christianity in this nation may not always get it right at first, but eventually it does. Where are the Christians today?
Christians are misled and confused thinking they must prepare the way for Jesus before he can return–the fallacy of Dominionism. Proclamations may make some feel good, but that is not the mandate of the Christian. Jesus said in Luke 19:13, “Occupy till I come.” The Apostle Paul charges us in Romans 12:21, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” The mandate of Christianity is simply put by Jesus in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” As James said, “But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” Where are the Christians today?
