Just A Reminder!

A government big enough to give you everything you want,
is strong enough to take everything you have.
Thomas Jefferson
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.
– Winston Churchill
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson
The dangers we face with the decisions being made by our elected officials in Washington far exceed the threats from all other outside sources.
“If you had tickets to a sports event, concert, Disneyland , or for an airline flight, and when you got to your assigned seat you found someone else was in that seat, what would you do? You would call for a person in charge of ticket checking and have the person in your seat removed. You would properly be asked to show your ticket, and you would gladly and proudly do so, for you have bought and paid for that seat. The person in your seat would also be asked for a ticket, which they would not be able to produce. They would be called “gate crashers” and they would properly be removed.
Now in this huge stadium called the USA we have had millions of gate crashers. We have been asking security to check for tickets and remove the gate crashers. We have been asking security to have better controls in checking at the door. We have asked security to lock the back doors. Security has failed us. They are still looking the other way. They are afraid to ask to see the tickets. Many people say there is unlimited seating, and whether there is or not, no one should be allowed in for free while the rest of us pay full price! I object and take exception to everyone saying that Obama and Congress are spending money like a drunken sailor. As a former drunken sailor, I quit when I ran out of money.

Law
What is a law? And I will not go to Mr. Webster for the definition, but to my mental dictionary of cowboy logic.
A law is a code of conduct which is set by whatever legislative entity holds power. A standard to which all citizens must conform, whether they agree with it or not. You may think it’s safe to drive 65mph in a 55mph speed zone but if you’re caught doing it you’re going to get a ticket.
You may think it’s fine to have ten large mouth bass in your live well when the limit is five. But if the game warden finds you over the limit you’re going to pay for it.
Laws are made for the protection of a nation’s or a community’s protection and without laws there’s no peace, no safety and no civilization.
Just because you don’t agree with a law doesn’t mean you can break it with impunity and if enough people decide to do it, the only thing left to society is anarchy. Read more…
